The problem

If you have ever taped together forty sheets of paper, cut into fabric you saved up for, and discovered the notches do not line up — you already know. Too many patterns are sold on a pretty cover photo and a vague size range, with instructions that assume you already know how to do the hard part.

What we do differently

Every Kaia pattern is generated from parametric geometry rather than traced by hand. That means the same rules apply across every size and every design: seams that are meant to join are the same length, notches land where they should, and grainlines are square.

Before anything reaches this shop it runs through deterministic checks — seam-length matching, print-scale validation, marking completeness — and then goes to an independent patternmaker for review. A pattern that fails does not get published with a disclaimer. It does not get published.

We publish the numbers

Every listing carries its size range and pattern code, and the size guide publishes the exact body measurements each size is drafted from, along with the block and the standard behind it. If a range stops at 16, we say so and explain why, rather than scaling a block up and hoping.

Nothing is printed, packed or posted. You buy a pattern and it is in your inbox — no shipping cost, no waiting, no envelope to lose. Every file includes both a tiled A4/Letter layout and a single A0 sheet, so you choose between taping at home and a copy shop without paying twice.

Where we are heading

More categories, and — the one we get asked about most — an extended size range. That is a separate drafting standard rather than a scale-up, which is why it takes longer than simply adding numbers to a chart. When it is real, it will appear here.
